Behind every successful business, there is a team. With a team, we can broaden our skill set, add intellectual capital to achieve our goals, and strengthen the purpose of our efforts. I am grateful to have had the steady support of friends, family, and other small businesses. Here, I introduce you to the team that did the work behind the launch of Mohr Designs.
Making the simple complicated is commonplace; making the complicated simple, awesomely simple, that’s creativity. -Charles Mingus.
Rebecca Mohr was born in Oklahoma City and grew up in Lawton, OK and Cary NC. She received her BS degrees in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering in 1985 from North Carolina State University. She worked as a process engineer for IBM in the Research Triangle Park where she realized that her interests were in the sciences and returned to school in 1987. Under the direction of Richard Alkire, she received her Masters and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. In 1993, she began her 22-year-long career with Air Products and Chemicals in Allentown, PA. In 2008, Rebecca discovered her passion for working with metal and stone. With her background in the sciences, her workbench quickly turned into her "studio" full of torches and tools, where she learned the techniques of goldsmithing and lapidary. In 2015, she had the opportunity to pursue the jewelry business full-time and launched Mohr Designs. As seen throughout the collections of Mohr Designs, Rebecca is inspired by nature. She loves to hike, bike, garden, cook, and spend time with friends. Although she is always looking to learn something new, her daily goal is to enjoy life. Learn more about Mohr Designs
